DescriptionTechnical execution and delivery of projects using technical expertise and experience in technical safety engineering and any validated associated software. 
Accountability, roles and responsibilities
  • The post holder will report to the Process Safety Manager (line Manager) for the execution of technical work, supported by the Lead Technical Safety Engineer
  • The Human Resources Manager will provide guidance for all non-technical aspects of working at Apollo
  • Communicate with all interested parties on all matters relating to the delivery of a specific job
  • Performing their day-to-day duties to the best of their ability and in compliance with Apollo’s HSEQ processes and procedures
  • Any other delegated content as instructed by under the direction of the line Manager.

Duties
  • Manage engineering projects using technical expertise and experience in engineering design and analysis 
  • Assist execution of projects using technical expertise and experience in engineering design and analysis as required by Apollo’s clients and all interested parties and under the direction of line manager whilst complying with Apollo’s processes and procedures 
  • Production of engineering proposals, schedules, and reports in accordance with Apollo’s project commitments, as required by Apollo’s clients and all interested parties
  • Providing supervision, mentoring, and continuing professional development support to less experienced engineers 
  • Assist business development effort by engaging with clients and potential clients to generate leads and enquiries under the direction of line management
  • Meet with clients and all interested parties on a project basis for both engineering and business development activities 
  • Work to be performed at the Company's offices in Aberdeen but there may be requirements to work at client offices and/or offshore (optional) in occasional circumstances and/or other satellite Apollo offices.

Qualifications
  • Suitable engineering or relevant degree 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Safety reviews and screenings 
  • HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, LOPA facilitation/scribing experience 
  • Knowledge and understanding in Safety Case Development, Review, Update, Submission and Acceptance
  • Knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessment and Management including Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) and supporting studies such as Hazard Identification, FERA, FMEA, EERA, Ship Collision, Dropped Objects, Hazardous Area Classification, ALARP Demonstration, etc. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of consequence modelling (PHAST software) 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Safety and Environmental Critical Elements (SECE) Management: 
    • Operational Risk Assessment 
    • Development of Performance Standards 
    • Development of Philosophy documents 
  • Knowledge of processes critical for process safety including, management of change, process safety auditing, control of work, operation and maintenance procedures, handover, incident response and emergency response.
