Job Description

Working alongside the catering manager the main duty of this role is to assist with preparing and serving both hot and cold breakfast and lunches daily. Duties will also include but are not limited too: 

  • Assist with basic food preparation including washing and peeling food and organising ingredients
  • Working in accordance with Health and Hygiene regulations and the kitchen Food Safety Management System
  • Keep all areas of the kitchen tidy to a high standard, washing up and emptying the dishwasher., removing all waste in a timely manner
  • Inputting ideas in to a changing weekly menu
  • Refilling tea / coffee stations and fruit bowls around the building when required
  • Checking stock levels and expiry dates on a daily basis
  • Assist with shopping orders and shopping deliveries

Qualifications

  • Must be Level 2 certified in Food Hygiene and Safety 
  • Previous experience of offering catering support in a similar position is essential
  • Must have high standards of personal hygiene
  • Fast and efficient whilst working in a fast paced and demanding kitchen
  • Exceptional communication skills & self-motivation
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high sense of urgency
  • A hard-working team player who is able to work both in a team and independently 
  • Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and prioritise efficiently 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and courteous whilst working with and serving colleagues


Additional Information

  • Starting salary of £30,000pa 
  • Working hours - 07:00 - 15:00
  • 22 days’ holiday per year (increasing to 25 after 1 year of service)
