Your new role

As our new Structural Design Engineer you will be joining our growing team in Southampton and delivering some of the highest profile and most exciting projects in the region and across the UK.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Assist with establishing fundamental structural design principles on projects Carrying out structural design, analysis and FE modelling Attending design team meetings and carryout out site visits Communicating designs to the design team & construction sites Taking an active role in technical groups and team meetings to support continuous improvement Develop relationships with regional universities and promote STEM within local schools 

Your new team

You will be part of a talented, fun and diverse team in Southampton working on a range of projects including healthcare, commercial office, residential, higher education, stations and heritage structures. Current examples of the exciting projects being delivered from the Southampton office include the Station Hill development in Reading, the new Emergency Department at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth and various railway station upgrades for both Transport for London and Network Rail. We actively encourage design flair and innovative solutions.

Ability to design reinforced concrete, steel, and timber in accordance with Eurocodes Experience of structural analysis tools (Autodesk Robot and Tekla Structural Designer) An appreciation of assessment, retrofit and alteration of existing structures A passion for sustainable solutions Interest in digital and parametric design Experience in technical report writing Knowledge of construction techniques and safe ways of working
