King Street Townhouse Hotel & Spa in Manchester city centre is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our team. This role involves maintaining the mechanical, electrical, and other systems within our luxury hospitality environment.

The hotel also includes King Street Tavern (bar, restaurant and wine cellars), afternoon tea rooms, conferencing & event space, gym and treatment rooms, which are available to hotel guests. King Street Townhouse boasts some amazing features, such as its rooftop infinity spa pool, with views of the spires and clock tower of Manchester’s iconic town hall. The hotel prides itself in its reputation for special events and occasions. As such we are very popular for christenings, wedding parties, anniversaries and birthday celebrations. In addition to this we also have regular corporate banquets and events.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other systemsConduct small fix and re-decorative works including painting, wallpapering, joinery, and carpentry to high visual standardsMaintain and operate HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building management systemsManage a small portfolio of wet leisure facilities including spa pool, steam room, and gym equipmentConduct temperature monitoring and Legionella compliance tasksPerform facility inspections and report conditions affecting operationsEscort specialist contractors and collaborate with them as requiredRespond promptly to emergencies and comply with all safety proceduresSupport after-hours building needs and activities as necessaryPerform other assigned tasks as requested

Good literacy and numeracy skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to delivering excellent customer servicePrevious experience as a Maintenance Technician in a luxury hospitality or leisure environment, with repair, fault finding, and problem-solving skillsAbility to plan ahead and prioritize workload effectivelySelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamPositive 'can do' attitude and proactive approach to workGood computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office packagesRelevant mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ, ONC, OND) would be advantageous
