Would you enjoy working as part of a hands-on, multidisciplinary project delivery team? If so, we have an interesting opportunity to join our Capital Maintenance Delivery team based in our North division as a Project Engineer.

What you'll do

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for both reactive and planned MEICA capital maintenance projects across a diverse range of sites, including water recycling, water production, sewerage and water distribution.

The value of individual projects ranges between £5,000 and £250,000 and will be based across the north of our region.

Your role will involve:

reviewing project risk/requirements, surveying and scoping, estimating, tendering, procurement, project delivery, supplier and contractor management, commissioning and handover the production of tender documents and tender/contract negotiations project financial approval, tracking and forecasting working closely with our key stakeholders ensuring compliance with health and safety and statutory regulations, as well as company and industry design standards and specifications ensuring the delivery process accords with our policies and procedures ensuring company and departmental targets are met.

What you'll need

Ideally, you will be from a construction and/or water industry background with experience in project management and working closely with external contractors.

It is essential that you have a safety-first approach and good negotiation and influencing skills.

In addition, you will need:

a positive and 'can-do' attitude  to be well-organised, customer-focused and a great team player to hold a technical level 4 (HNC) qualification in an engineering discipline, but other skill sets will be considered to be a professionally registered engineer (EngTech/IEng) or working towards this - support can be given on professional registration to have a working knowledge of CDM 2015 a valid driving licence.
