We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Technology Risk Lead. You will lead the successful management and implementation of the technology and resilience risk and control framework for a new FX and payments business within the group. You will drive the risk and control agenda for technology and resilience risks (product technology, platform, architecture, data) risks, providing professional risk support for the development of new features and online experiences. You will be responsible for helping to ensure the overall control environment is fit for managing risks within HSBC Group’s appetite.

Your responsibilities will include:
● Support the CRCO in rolling out a best-in-class risk framework, including the embedding of risk and control assessment processes, incident and issue management across technology and resilience risks.
● Partner with the business tribes to provide risk advice, guidance, and challenge in the assessment of systems, infrastructure, and data security risks, ensuring the build out of a robust and effective risk and control profile.
● Playing a lead role in the management of technology and resilience risk incidents and issues.
● Developing and continually enhancing the framework policies, procedures, and monitoring MI to ensure effect oversight and challenge and ensuring trigger events are accounted for by assessing any impacts of changes, internal or external events to the risk and control profile of the business.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
● Extensive practical experience in technology and resilience risk management in a financial services firm.
● Knowledge of technology platforms, best practice and industry expectations relating to resilience and data security risks.
● Strong understanding of core risk activities such as risk assessment, policy management, reporting, and testing, and with strengths in one or more of the financial or non-financial risk categories.
● Ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Senior Executives and other key stakeholders using easily understood language.
● Experience of payment solutions (particularly cross-border) or FX products is advantageous.
● Experience and aptitude in constructively challenging the status quo, particularly from a digital innovation perspective and risk management strategy in banking, whilst balancing the business strategic priorities and overall customer experience.
