The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Patient Flow Co-ordinator in our clinical site team.
The purpose of the Flow Co-ordinator's role is to ensure that patients have a seamless journey and discharge and that the patient's pathway is effectively managed across site.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team to contribute to high quality patient experience. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Ward managers and Charge nurses to support patient pathways from admission to discharge/ transfer.
We are looking for a, caring and compassionate person who would like to make a difference to our complex patient group.
Main duties of the job
The flow coordinator is responsible for liaising with Emergency Department, and other Clinical site coordinators and receiving areas to ensure effective communication about capacity is maintained and appropriate early escalation is facilitated.
It is desirable that the applicant has recent experience in a health environment. The applicant must be computer literate. The applicant must be able to work flexibly and prioritise workload effectively, and use own initiative in certain work related issues.

What we'll need you to bring
SVQII in healthcare or working towards, or equivalent experience working in a caring environment/role. Postholder will require to have worked in a busy acute setting. Postholder will require knowledge of office packages and data analysis systems. Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
It would be great if you also have
Worked in patient flow with bed management team Understanding of patient flow from admission through to discharge Knowledge of the organisation of discharge transport Ability to work under pressure and in a ever changing environment Ability to work without direct supervision Post holder will decide when to escalate potential breaches of target waiting time to bed manager/nursing/medical staff GCSE English or equivalent
Contract type
Permanent Part Time 34.1 hours Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in the Flow Team within University Hospital Monklands. The working pattern for this role 3/7 including weekends rotational.
