Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Southampton 

Job Type: Full time 

Salary: £12.90 P/H

Key Responsibilities:
  • Individual Support: Provide tailored support to students with SEN, assisting with their learning, social interaction, and personal development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to implement personalized learning plans and strategies.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons, ensuring a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Behavior Management: Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Monitoring Progress: Observe and record students’ progress, reporting back to teachers and parents as required.
  • Adapt Resources: Modify classroom materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with students, parents, and other staff members regarding individual needs and progress.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to SEN.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training).
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of various types of SEN and effective strategies for support.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing student needs.
