BAM UK and Ireland is recruiting a Data Engineer to join the team. This role is based out of our offices in Camberley. BAM operates a flexible working policy.
 

Your mission

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective data integrations and/or Power App solutions.
• Create and maintain ETL processes for extracting, transforming and loading data from various sources into our systems – integrate diverse data sources to provide a unified view ensuring seamless data availability to various business applications.
• Create entity relationship diagrams, write database queries, maintain data warehouses and data lakes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, scalability and reliability in the ETL processes.
• Optimise and enhance existing Power BI reports, DAX and dashboards and pipelines and PowerApps for improved performance and usability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, data analysts and business analysts to support data integration and data governance initiatives.
• Provide training and support to end-users on solutions being delivered, functionality and best practices.
• Conduct advanced data analysis and data mining methods to identify opportunities for improvements in the organisation.
• Administer and optimize PowerApps solutions and databases for performance, security, and reliability.
• Implement and enforce data governance and security policies to ensure compliance is met.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements.
• Develop and maintain code for data processing using languages such as Python.
• Implement and manage code repositories / libraries for version control as well as comprehensive documentation of design and methodologies.
• Work with MS Azure cloud platforms. Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in data pipelines and dataverse.
• Optimise queries and processes for efficiency.
• Work in an Agile way.
 

Who are we looking for?

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with Databricks, Dataverse, PySpark, Synapse and Powerautomate
• Experience with integrating SAP end to end advantageous
• Experience with data warehouse technologies and data integration processes.
• Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration.
• Experience in data modelling, data visualization, and report development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
• Proficiency in PowerApps, Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Prior experience with other BI tools is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure are preferred.
• Continuous learning mindset and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and analytical techniques.
• A proactive and positive ‘can’ do attitude and self motivated.
• Attention to detail with a problem solving mindset. 

Non-essential requirements:
• Experience of working in the Construction / Engineering Industry.
