We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the Global Insurance Risk Team in the role of Senior Manager, Insurance Financial Risk Reporting Oversight.

The Global Insurance Risk Team is a 2nd line team whose financial risk responsibilities include review and challenge over capital and financial reporting, assumptions, pricing as well as model governance and oversight. The Global Insurance risk team will work closely with Local Risk teams to provide an effective 2nd line function.

As the Senior Manager, Insurance Financial Risk Oversight, you will need strong accounting background to be part of the Global Insurance Risk team in London and provide support on second line oversight for non-actuarial areas related to reported financials within the Insurance entities. The structure of the team will require the role to lead specific team responsibilities, whilst providing resource to support activities across the team responsibilities as a subject matter expertise on financial reporting.

In this role, you will: 

Support in undertaking Financial Risk oversight and assurance activity on key reported financials across the insurance entities. This oversight covers IFRS17 financial and capital reporting and disclosures included in external regulatory returns and financial reports and internal financial reporting. To work closely with Finance, Financial Control, Financial Risk Reporting Stewards and RCAS to ensure appropriate accounting decisions are being taken by the insurance entities which are in line with HSBC standards. To attend Global and Local Financial Reporting Committees on behalf of Insurance Risk and provide review and challenge of methodology, assumptions, expert judgements which can impact the accounting aspects of reported financials.  Being a subject matter expert on IFRS17. Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: 

Knowledge of IFRS17 and capital with a sound understanding of the key differences between the bases. Detailed knowledge and understanding of key financial reporting processes. Knowledge of Insurance Entities Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal, able to adapt and deliver to stakeholders of multiple geographies and seniority levels. Stakeholder management skills and experience, especially interaction with senior management.

The base location for this role is London and is Hybrid working.
