The Position

The newly created Digital Solutions business is blazing a trail to reimagine the renewable energy space by delivering new and innovative solutions that are built on a solid foundation of data and analytics.Our clients will be able to optimise their assets, drive efficiency and gather new insights with their ability to confidently make data driven decisions. The Edge Controller product line was developed by the business unit to enhance the output of renewable energy assets. It consists of software deployed to an industrial computer located at the site (., edge box) and communicates with the control systems of the assets to achieve its objectives. Upon contract finalization, the Product Delivery Team spearheads the project's hardware procurement, software configuration and deployment, and ensures ongoing support. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Product Delivery, you will have responsibility for configuring and deploying the Edge Controller software into operating wind and solar farms. In this role, you will coordinate with Site Technicians to have the edge box installed, and with OT Engineers to configure the network for remote communications. You will use the available cloud-based human-machine interface (HMI) to configure the software according to the project requirements and deploy it to the edge box.You will have responsibility for numerous projects that may be in different stages of their life cycle, and may be across different product lines.  Key Accountabilities Configure projects and users on the product using the cloud-based HMI software. Create and execute comprehensive Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) to verify system functionality Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and on-site integration. Participate in technical discussions to help develop the tools and processes for efficient product deployment. Document technical processes and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain best practices. Knowledge Familiarity with industrial automation principles, communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, , and cybersecurity best practices Familiarity with SCADA systems Knowledge of how wind and solar farms operate desirable Skills and Attributes Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting. Strong collaboration and communication skills with the abilities. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience Demonstrable experience in configuring, deploying edge boxes for industrial applications. Proven track record in deploying and troubleshooting controls software in operational environments. Experience of working remotely without close supervision Experience with SCADA systems deployment, HMI development tools, and edge computing technologies is advantageous. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
