About the Role

We have vacancies for two enthusiastic, experienced, and proactive individuals to join our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. 

These are permanent full-time positions and the work undertaken will be predominantly in the area of Housing Disrepair claims. 

The roles include managing a caseload of Housing Disrepair claims from start to finish. The successful applicants will be expected to deal with claims from receipt of the Letter of Claim in line with the Pre-Action Protocol, Disclosure and manage cases all the way through the litigation process to Trial. 

The successful candidates will work alongside other experienced Solicitors and Paralegals also carrying out this type of work as part of a larger, Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. You will be fully supported to further develop your knowledge and experience. 

You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and the County Court litigation process. Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate a pragmatic, commercial approach to claims handling, together with excellent communication, analytical and drafting skills. The successful applicants will be expected to undertake advocacy in the County Court, as required. Candidates must be able to manage a caseload of litigated and non-litigated matters with minimum supervision and have the ability to work well within a team. Previous supervisory experience would also be welcomed. 

Applicants who have County Court litigation experience in other areas of law, such as Personal Injury and who have transferable skills are also encouraged to apply for the role. 

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Solicitor admitted for not less than 2 years, or of equivalent experience. Barrister having completed a Pupillage and called to the Bar for not less than 4 years.   Ability to organise own workload and work under pressure with minimum supervision. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
