Job summary

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust requires a dynamic and forward thinking Locum Consultant to join the Dermatology team predominantly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich (QEH) site. The vacancy is for a full time Locum Consultant, but applications from those wishing to work less than full time are welcome. The post includes clinics in a newly established Community Dermatology Service based at centres in Bexley and Greenwich. In addition at QEH there will be clinics in adult/paediatric general Dermatology and skin cancer as well as skin surgery lists.

Main duties of the job

Provide high quality Dermatology care in out-patient clinics and perform high quality surgery within the appropriate level of Attend required MDT and CPD events Perform regular ward rounds with clinical There is no out of hours on call commitment but the Dermatology team are closely involved in the care of in-patients where needed. Provide high quality support to GP colleagues in hospital and Provide leadership to the department, encouraging development of services with colleagues both in and outside the organisation.

Job responsibilities

The job plan is anticipated to contain 10 Programmed Activities per week on average to be carried out at QE sites which include community facilities in Greenwich and Bexley. This is an outline programme

and you will be expected to discuss and agree a detailed job plan including your personal and professional objectives with your Clinical Director within 3 months of your start date.

The job plan will be negotiated between the consultant and his/her clinical director at least annually. The initial job plan for this post is planned to be:

Qualifications

Essential

MBBS or equivalent MRCP GMC registration and hold a License to Practice On the GMC specialist register for Dermatology or hold CCT in Dermatology or be within six months of obtaining CCT at date of interview or equivalent experience.

Desirable

MSc, MD, PhD

Clinical Experience

Essential

General Dermatology Skin cancer Skin cancer MDT Dermatological surgery

Desirable

Record of at least 6 months experience of skin cancer work under a 2 week wait referral pathway

Clinical Audit

Essential

Thorough understanding of medical audit Undertaken and completed audits

Desirable

Experience as audit lead

Teaching Experience

Essential

Experience of postgraduate/ undergraduate/interdisciplinary teaching

Desirable

Higher qualification in medical education Evidence of having developed novel educational methods or courses Evidence of training and experience as an educational supervisor

Management & Administrative Experience

Understand NHS funding arrangements Evidence of contribution to service development or improvement

Higher qualifications in managemen

Research Experience
