Playground Games is looking for a Blendshape Artist to join our Fable team.

ABOUT US:

As a first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and, most of all, fun. We are excited to be rebooting the much-loved Fable franchise and are expanding our diverse team to create a new classic in the action RPG genre.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will be part of the Character Team, creating the people and creatures of Albion. You will work closely with the Lead Character Artist and Tech Anim Lead to deliver high quality Blendshapes, as well as providing feedback and documentation to outsource partners and other members of the team

Our ideal candidate is a talented artist who is passionate about their craft, skilled in sculpting and modelling human facial anatomy, combined with the technical understanding of cutting-edge facial rigging and animation

This is a contract role based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Bring the faces of Fable to life, through the creation of highly realistic blend shapes Populating the blend shape sets and testing them to ensure each actor’s likeness is maintained Aligning and cleaning up scanned expressions with the knowledge and skill to maintain the masses and underlying structure of the face Work closely with our Tech anim to create highly realistic and efficient facial rigs for a range of characters

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Deep knowledge of facial anatomy; specifically, its musculature, underlying structure and how that deforms in motion Advanced knowledge of FACS and associated systems and the ability to properly isolate expressions A broad experience, covering modelling, texturing, shading, rigging & skinning, animation, facial animation and blendshapes A genuine passion for video games and Fable
