Maintenance Engineer - Plumber

Location : Mobile - Edinburgh 

Contract - Full time Permanent

Your new role

What you’ll do:  

To undertake planned and responsive plumbing work either independently or supervised across both our Commercial and Public Sector building. To undertake maintenance duties in such a manner as to support the objectives of the client and with respect for the dignity and privacy of the resident group. To ensure the safe operation of all plant, equipment, and tools To always operate with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection, Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM. Full compliance of handheld technology (PDA & Tablet) using RFM’s management system FSI Go To take part in an On-Call rota providing 24hr, 365-day cover to the Facilities To report all accidents and incidents as per RFM’s Health and Safety Policy The post holder will be required to maintain an awareness of RFM's policies, procedures and objectives related to the successful delivery of the maintenance service. To provide support and assistance to other RFM personnel on site in the delivery of contracted services. To maintain asset histories, maintenance records and helpdesk reports, informing the RFM Contracts Manager or sub-contractors of any follow up action that may be required.

What you’ll need:

 The ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach Previous maintenance experience working in FM environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills The ability to work as part of a team and under pressure Dedication and ambition to develop within the role NVQ Level 2 or higher in plumbing Water Byelaws Scotland Extensive experience of property maintenance gained in either the public or private sector. Driving Licence

The successful candidate will require a Disclosure Check

Who we’re looking for:

The post holder will work as part of the maintenance team with responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive, high quality Reactive Maintenance, Planned and Lifecycle service for the contract within the given region. The post holder will have a designated core skill (Plumbing) and will be expected to lead in this area but will also be expected to undertake any property maintenance work within the post holder’s range of competence. The post holder needs to have a flexible working approach as the role will require tasks carried out that may be out with contracted hours of work.
