About the job

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our projects team based in Keele, UK. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you be responsible for all electrical aspects on multiple customer projects with varied engineering requirements and deliverables. The projects will be of varied value and complexity, but will all revolve around Alfa Laval core equipment, with a focus on dewatering / thickening equipment with an emphasis on waste water treatment, but also within other food and water applications.

You will be responsible for progressing the electrical elements of projects from order/contract placement through to design, purchasing, manufacture, installation and commissioning. You will also have the opportunity to work on customer sites throughout the UK as part of the commissioning process, completing wiring modifications and helping to establish communications between our equipment and the customer's PLC. You will engage with other teams internally along the way and provide timely updates to the Project Manager. You will also provide support and advice during the project bid phase to ensure the customer's specifications and technical constraints are adhered to or deviations are highlighted when quoting.

You will be responsible for producing the electrical documentation package to a high standard; including an equipment schedule, control philosophy / function design specification, control panel documentation, cable schedules, datasheets etc. and to support the overall technical documentation generation (O&Ms, design risk assessments). You will review supplier documentation such as control panel drawings, wiring diagrams and software design, with a focus on compliance to customer specifications and operational functionality.

The role is predominantly office based where the expectation is to work most of your time within an existing team, however; following successful onboarding and initial learning phase there will be opportunity to work some of the time from home. Some other site & customer visits / Factory Acceptance Test attendance will also be required, therefore a full driving licence is essential.

You have fantastic communication skills, able to network and generate internal relationships to ensure customer query fulfilment. You are confident in communicating with customers whether that be in person or on calls. You are commercially aware within a projects environment and can provide concise updates to peers and management. You are structured and organised, with the ability to take initiative and drive tasks through to completion.

What you know
