Our Trainee Cheesemaker
Reporting to our Head
Cheesemaker, our Trainee Cheesemaker will be involved in producing high-quality
cheeses and yoghurts using milk from our own buffalo herd. This role offers a
unique opportunity to learn the complete cheesemaking process, from crafting
our popular Buffalo Mozzarella and Halloumi-style Sutton Brue to maturing,
packing, and dispatching.
As this role does involve
lifting some heavy cheeses, you will need to be physically fit. So, if you
don’t mind getting stuck in and learning from an ever-growing business, then
this could be the role for you
Key Responsibilities
- Be willing to learn about the
entire cheesemaking process and be involved at all points. - Focusing on food safety and hygiene
at all times - Packing cheeses and cleaning
- Maintaining accurate records
- Communicate with, learn from
and work with your team - Assist with Creamery tours

Where
you'll be working - The Creamery
The
new purpose build creamery is set in a renovated dairy dating from 1914. The
whole process is customer facing and we share the journey from cow to curd as
part of The Newt guest experience.
