Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a welcoming primary school within the EX31 area. The EX31 postcode area covers Barnstaple, Instow, Bishops Tawton, Fremington, and surrounding villages, making this a convenient role for candidates living in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalised support to students with SEN, ensuring their learning needs are met
  • Assist the class teacher in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Support the emotional and social development of pupils through one-to-one and small group interventions
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, ensuring they are achieving their full potential
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role is desirable, but not essential
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them to thrive
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
