Job summary
Fixed term or secondment opportunity.
Anexciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a self motivated individual whois keen to be at the forefront of IT innovation within the NHS. You will be part of a dedicated, hardworkingteam delivering first point of contact for all County Durham and Darlingtonissues and queries, providing excellent customer services by focusing onproviding information on the procurement of hardware and software.
Main duties of the job
Taking calls from customersvia the telephone, email and the SelfService portal.
Obtaining quotations fromSuppliers and Procuring hardware and software for users in a timely manner.
Ordering new equipment andarranging delivery to the end user.
Maintaining an inventory ofICT hardware and software.
Issue advice and guidanceto service users, using procedures used within IM&T.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Support the ICT CustomerServices Manager in the provision of the service.
Order new equipment andarrange delivery to ICT service users in an efficient and timely manner.
Assist in the developmentof ICT procedures and policies.
Assist in the preparationof ad hoc and routine billing and monitoring reports.
Input into and maintain aninventory of ICT hardware and software.
Administer access tonetwork and application systems.
Obtaining quotations fromSuppliers for Hardware and Software.
Provide advanced telephoneadvice to ICT users.
Provide assistance to theInfrastructure and IT operations teams.
Provide advice to users onthe correct use of ICT equipment.
Log and update calls on theIT Service Desk.
Work with theInfrastructure support team to assign and prioritise work.
Dealwith suppliers for orders, returns and repairs.
Person Specification
Special Skills and Knowledge
Essential
Follow procedures and instructions accurately. Communication, verbal and written. Excellent Communication & Organisational skills and ability to prioritise. A great telephone manner. Ability to work under pressure. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. Technical knowledge of a wide range of computer systems.
Desirable
Knowledge and experience of multiple systems. Knowledge of supporting users remotely. Knowledge of ITIL.
Qualifications
Essential
5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics
Desirable
ITIL Awareness.
Experience
Essential
Knowledge of common PC operating systems. Experience of supporting users with computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

Willing to undertake any training required for the post. Able to travel across Trust sites to meet the requirements of the post.
