What you will do:

We are looking for a motivated Nurse Consultant who will provide senior clinical leadership within the East Ayrshire Community Hospital (EACH) and across the HSCP. You will line manage Senior Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) and a range of ANPs, influencing the continuation of the transformation of the Advanced Practice Framework within East Ayrshire HSCP and NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

You will have significant post registration experience in expert clinical practice for the management of the acutely unwell patient, working at a senior level within community, primary care or acute settings. In addition you will be experienced in practice and service development, as well as having proven leadership experience.

You will be visible professionally and clinically whilst facilitating nursing leadership in supporting teams to strive for excellence and promote person centred care within a community hospital setting or within homes, including homely settings.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

Registered Nurse Master’s degree or evidence of working at Masters level Accredited specialist practitioner in an appropriate specialty Educated in clinical teaching or training and practice development experience Demonstrable expert skills and knowledge, in the field of the acutely unwell patient, directly comparable with medical registrar grade staff Significant evidence of transformational leadership Highly developed practical skills in assessment and clinical decision making for the unwell patient Proven track record in the development of Post graduate, masters level, clinically focused educational programmes at a relevant University Significant post-registration experience in expert clinical practice for the management of the unwell patient Experience of working closely with NHS and other national quality bodies knowledge Having an understanding of the genesis of clinical evidence and being able to develop clinical evidence i.e., ability to undertake research projects

Hours:

37 hours per week

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Ayrshire and Arran is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so
