We are currently looking for a Project Accountant to join our office in Harwell, Oxford.
Role Purpose
This role is to provide excellent financial process support and information across all Ricardo Business Units. Working with the wider Finance team and project Managers/Directors to enable effective financial management of contracts to help achieve the Company’s financial targets and growth.
Key Accountabilities
• Project setup & closure processes, including orderbook processing, to ensure underlying systems reflect contract status, information and value on a timely and accurate basis.
• Assist in monthly management accounts preparation including selected overhead cost centres and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Support to effective and timely delivery of sales invoicing and input to working capital improvement process.
• Supporting timesheet management, processing and reporting
• Support to CRM / pipeline processes including integrity checks and new customer account creation.
• Train and support project managers in relevant aspects of financial systems, policies, procedures and best practice.
• Preparation of monthly reporting. This could include: resourcing forecast reports, orders reporting etc.
• Liaising with legal, sales and other central teams, as well as auditors and customers as required.
• Ad hoc support to management accounts, wider finance team and senior finance management as required, including leave cover.
• Input to development, enhancement and implementation of business wide financial systems and process and other projects within the finance team.
Key competencies and experience
• Studying toward ACCA/CIMA (or similar) qualification. Support for studying available.
• Financial/commercial experience.
• Good excel skills.
Skills and behaviours
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability and flexibility to work under pressure to strict deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, plan, prioritise and be responsible for deliverables.
• Aspiration to learn and progress within the finance team.
