About the Role:

The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing students' understanding of geographical concepts and their appreciation for the world around them. This position is starting in September 2024.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Create comprehensive lesson plans that inspire students and align with the national curriculum.
  • Fieldwork and Practical Sessions: Organise and conduct field trips and practical sessions to enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Assessment: Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Lead or support extra-curricular clubs and activities related to Geography.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and share best practices.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Must hold a valid QTS certification.
  • Relevant Degree: A degree in Geography or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience teaching Geography at the secondary school level is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Teaching: Demonstrate a passion for the subject and for teaching young people.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
