Job summary

TheIntegrated Children with Additional Needs (ICAN) service is looking for apassionate registered nurse with previous experience of working with childrenand young people, practicing at band 5 or 6 level, to work primarily within theconstipation and daytime wetting pathways. You will have experience of caseloadmanagement including safeguarding and multi-disciplinary working. You shoulddisplay excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

We have one full time secondment position until March 2025.

You will work within the service offer which covers both the constipationpathway as well as delivering our nurse led daytime wetting service. Experienceof working in this area would be highly beneficial. The wider ICAN nursing teamalso support sleep, feeding and growth and nutrition.

Main duties of the job

Keyresponsibilities include working with children and their families who attendour Community Paediatric and Neurodisability clinics supporting care deliveryand providing nursing interventions.

You will manage your own caseload of children and young people who requireconstipation and daytime wetting intervention. You will work within a team ofnurses, Paediatricians and psychologists across the city. Effectivecommunication, awareness of when to escalate concerns and recognition oflimitations is therefore paramount to ensure the safety of the children andyoung people we support.

You will be committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for children andyoung people. You will be responsible for the support, development, andsupervision of students and junior staff, including conducting appraisals.There is an expectation that you will contribute to the co-ordination andsupport of the childrens business unit strategy locally to develop coordinatedpathways.

Job Purpose

The post holder will beresponsible for their own caseload within their speciality area as anautonomous practitioner.
