About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of the educational team, providing essential support to students with special educational needs. Your role will involve working closely with teachers to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every student can succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with special educational needs on a one-on-one basis or in small groups, ensuring they receive the individual attention they need.
  • Work with teachers to develop and implement IEPs that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and support students during lessons and activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging students to interact and build social skills.
  • Track and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources to support learning activities.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A compassionate approach and the ability to remain patient in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
  • Any relevant qualifications or training in special education will be an advantage.
  • Willingness to adapt to the needs of the school and students.
