Job summary

hours per week (flexi-time).The Trust has recently made significant investment in new Data Warehouse systems, complimented by new Business Intelligence reporting are looking for an experienced Information Developer to join our busy and highly skilled team to further develop and maintain the data warehouse and reporting cubes.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to interpret complex requests then design implement new technical solutions, utilising the SQL stack and other technologies where appropriate.

A logical thinker who can work using your own initiative, you will also be a confident communicator and team player. The role will involve close working with other developers in the team, and well as analysts and other members of the department and staff across the Trust.

Educated to degree level, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline with experience in a software or information development role. The role requires experience of ETL and BI development using full SQL stack (SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS), NHS background, and preferably some experience of PowerBI and Microsoft operate hybrid working and are based at the Civic Centre in Doncaster. Travel to other sites may be required occasionally.

Essential

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Data Engineer / Business Intelligence / Data Analyst / Software Developer role. Experience of working within an NHS environment. Awareness of data collection and data management procedures and patient administration procedures. Competent user in Microsoft Office products Experience of querying Microsoft SQL Databases. Awareness of NHS strategic objectives and the implications for Information Management. Evidence of excellence in profession in current role who is accustomed to the culture of service provision. Good understanding of the effects of poor data quality on patient experience and other Trust and national agendas. Detailed knowledge of NHS Data Definitions and technical documentation Competent in using a diverse range of information sources for research and problem solving. An awareness of the challenges facing the NHS, and how Information can support delivery of these objectives. Advanced numeracy skills and intermediate statistical techniques The post holder will require a clear understanding of the concept of the confidentiality of personal health information to ensure that this important aspect of care is not breached Ability to identify and assess a range of complex facts and situations where there may be no obvious solution. Exercise judgement in a situation that may have never occurred before or there may be no guidance. Advanced systems analysis skills to interpret user's requirements and work through solutions from conception to delivery. Ability to quickly identify and investigate inconsistencies in data. Ability to exercise judgement and provide advice in the regular design and development of a range of information systems (databases, spreadsheets) required to produce reports Skilled in complex data analysis and interpretation, reporting complex, sensitive and on occasion's contentious information to Managers, Clinicians, and other staff groups. Complex problem-solving skills including lateral thinking to develop new ideas and thinking which can be realised into workable solutions Ability to judge whether issues can be locally managed or should be referred higher Confident to propose service improvements and developments Ability to interpret and implement policies relating to informatics and business intelligence Experience in implementing successful changes to enhance business information management and reporting. Experienced in delivering training to individuals and groups Experience of developing and implementing information reporting systems Ability to act freely within an agreed framework to achieve agreed objectives. Use of VDU equipment for a significant amount of the day, long periods sitting at a desk. Advanced and accurate keyboard skills Ability to occasionally travel to other sites within the local area, for example by car or public transport Frequent, prolonged levels of concentration required when dealing with complex information, problem solving or software development Ability to quickly identify, investigate & provide solutions for identified issues. Experience of building ETL processing in SQL Databases. Qualifications

Essential

Degree or equivalent qualification or relevant experience in relevant discipline plus post graduate diploma or equivalent qualification or relevant experience in a software or information development role Academic knowledge of the theory of relational database concepts and design. Microsoft Certified Professional Knowledge and skills in Microsoft SQL Database environments including administration and associated products ( Analysis Services) gained through attending a variety of formal courses and practical experience
