Please note: the salary quoted is for full-time hours (37.5 hrs per week). For appointments to part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rata.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and enthusiastic therapist to join the Occupational Therapy Service at the Borders General Hospital.
Previous experience of providing specialist occupational therapy in an acute adult, physical setting is essential to this post. The clinical areas will include acute medicine, department of medicine for the elderly and palliative care. The post holder will provide clinical leadership and supervision to rotational therapists and therapy support workers and will have opportunities to deputise for the team lead as required.
The post will involve working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to assess and treat patients with the aim of maximising independence and facilitating prompt discharge. Opportunities for continuous personal development (CPD) are encouraged with regular supervision and appraisal and in-service training as well as access to relevant external training.
