(MEP) Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our construction teams in Scotland.
The project is based in the North of Scotland and the successful candidate can be based in the central belt of Scotland (Eurocentral) with travel to the Nairn site 2/3 days per fortnight.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced QS who has a track record in managing all costs and income within the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Sector. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
Typically, they will be a Chartered Member of the RICS, ICES or CIOB. They will have experience of managing a small team of less experienced commercial staff as well as mentoring others on their journey to becoming professionally qualified. They will maintain their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
What you'll be doing
Has agood knowledge of and adheres to the Companys governance requirements and maximises LEAN/digital opportunities. Orders information and systematically checks data. Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents. Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties. Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location. Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes. Monitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately. Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation and report to senior project staff. Understanding of the Customer Contract and undertakes customer and stakeholder management. Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required. Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes. Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy. Supports the recruitment, supervision and development of team members
Who we're looking for
The following qualifications or their equivalent are essential:
Experience in MEP delivery within School Builds is desirable BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge MRCIS/MCInstCES/MCIOB or working towards them CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person)
