The role:
  • Provide verbal and written interpreting services for Ryobi staff/visitors (English/Japanese).  This will include dealing with technical and commercial verbal and written materials in a variety of settings (e.g. meetings, telephone calls, on the shop floor, on one-to-one and group basis). 
  • Prepare written translations of documents, instructional and educational materials, procedures and correspondence from one language to another (English/Japanese), when appropriate for use by Ryobi staff/visitors.  
  • Ensure translations and interpretations maintain the original meaning, context and tone of the source material. 
  • Provide general administrative support as required. 
  • Participate in departmental and team related programmes and activities as needed. 
  • Participate in information sharing, team working and continuous improvement programmes. 
  • Practice good housekeeping and safety procedures. 
  • Comply with the Company Environmental Policy and requirements of the Environmental Management System both in normal and emergency situations. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Essential Criteria:
  • Fluent in English and Japanese, both written and spoken

Desirable Criteria:
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification  
  • Understanding of business and technical language in English and Japanese 
  • Experience within an office and/or manufacturing environment 
  • Business acumen
