Main duties of the job

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providingclinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care in DPHCdental centres, to enhance force generation and operational capability andminimise dental morbidity on operations.

Job responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Managing the patient appointment system. Coordinating building faults and arranging repair technician visits as the need arises. Ensuring surgeries are prepared appropriately for the days patients in accordance with current regulations. Providing chairside support to the operator for all operative procedures. Meeting the needs of the patients by supervising, supporting and reassuring each individual according to their specific needs, providing appropriate advice when required.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Due to COVID 19, there is now a requirement for dental clinical staff to be fit tested for a FFP3 mask, which has to be worn when managing a patient who is undergoing an aerosol generating procedure (AGP) the successful candidate will be fit tested prior to commencing employment.

The successful applicant will have contact with patients and service users. In-line with the NHS England approach, MOD is in the process of making full vaccination a condition of deployment for its healthcare workers employed across the UK. In order to comply with our duty of care, we require our staff to have the COVID vaccine and we will ask for proof of vaccination status during the recruitment process.
