Team: Adult Social Care - Reviewing Team
Bury Council is excited to announce new opportunities within our Adult Social Care Reviewing Team. We are expanding our services by introducing therapy support to enhance the care review process for our residents. Position Available:
- Grade 13 Occupational Therapist - 37 hours per week, 2-year contract.
While this position is initially set for 2 years, there will be a review towards the end of this period to evaluate the project's long-term sustainability, with the potential to make these roles permanent.
Please note that due to this project being a new initiative where working with high levels of professional autonomy will be required, this post requires candidates to have at least 2 years post-qualifying experience.

As an occupational therapist within the Adult Social Care Reviewing Team, you’ll play a critical role in transforming lives by helping individuals achieve and maintain independence. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting Comprehensive Assessments: Evaluate individuals' needs and strengths to support their independence.
- Collaborating with Multi-disciplinary Teams: Work closely with professionals across various sectors to ensure holistic care.
- Promoting Independence: Utilize a strengths-based approach to empower individuals and reduce reliance on care services.
- Reviewing and Planning: Regularly review care plans to ensure they meet the evolving needs of residents, with a focus on promoting long-term well-being and independence.
- Joint Working: Working closely with the technical instructor and reviewing officers/social workers as part of providing assessments to customers and working with customers in ways to increase their independence
We're looking for an occupational therapist who is:
- Experienced and Compassionate: You have experience in a community care setting and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable adults.

- Skilled in Communication and Assessment: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and can conduct thorough, strengths-based assessments.
- Registered: HCPC Registration for this role is a must.

- Clinical supervision by appropriate discipline: Whilst coming under the day to day management of the Reviewing Team Manager, we will provide you with direct clinical supervision by an Occupational Therapist.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Relevant Experience: You must be experienced in working with individuals in a manner which promotes their independence.
- Experience in Adult Social Care: A background in community care or a related setting is essential.
- Knowledge of Relevant Legislation: Understanding of legal frameworks relevant to adult social care, particularly the Care Act 2014.
- Eligibility to Work in the UK:
- A full UK driving license is required.
