Teacher of Religious Education - Secondary School East London

Teaching personnel are looking for a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and committed Teacher of Religious Educatoin to teach across all age ranges and abilities. The school is an inclusive mixed secondary school in East London. The school has been graded “Good” in its last Ofsted inspections.

The school aims to provide an education of excellence to every child; one that will change their lives and inspire them to be the leaders of tomorrow. Through the investment in an ambitious and engaging curriculum, strong discipline and inspiring teaching, the students can achieve the school motto of excellence has no limits.

The school are proud of every student and believe that each one of them can achieve. Staff will never cap a student’s potential, instead they will push them beyond what they ever thought they were capable of.

Religious Studies is well respected in the school and a popular subject amongst students. GCSE Full Course is taught to all students from Year 9 through to Year 11. RS, Philosophy and Ethics is taught at A Level and the candidate will have the option of teaching RS at all 3 key stages.

Duties and responsibilities:

expectations of all students all teachers will be expected to:

  • Teach students principally in your own subject across the age and ability range and in accordance with agreed schemes of work and assessment for learning, recording, and reporting procedures.
  • Share responsibility for ensuring the safety, well-being, and discipline of all the students at the school.

Qualities The Teacher of RE and Sociology will:

  • Maintain high standards of ethics, behaviour, and professional conduct
  • Build positive and respectful relationships across the school community
  • Serve in the best interests of the school’s pupils
  • Have high expectations of young people and be aligned to our belief that ‘Excellence has no limits’
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Religious Studies to KS3 & KS4

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
