Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join as a Nursing Associate within our team, you will support the recovery focused working standards of our acute ward and be expected to work proactively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in collaboration with patients and carers.

The ward is an acute female ward with 16 beds and specializes in caring for people with a range of mental health challenges who, for a variety of reasons. We aim to work with service users to enable them to recover as quickly as possible so that they continue through the adult mental health care pathway to reach their desired outcome.

Wintle Ward, Warneford Hospital is seeking to recruit a motivated, passionate, driven, enthusiastic Nurse Associates to contribute to our services, working at ward level with our existing Registered Mental Health staff.

Main duties of the job

The role will be to assist the registered staff to deliver a wide range of nursing interventions including the treatment of multiple chronic conditions, mental health and social vulnerability. It requires strong all-round capability, insights and adaptability in physical and mental health working, as well as organizational, communication and inter-personal skills.

You will be working within all aspects of the nursing process in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery professional code of conduct.

Job responsibilities

Our team works hard to ensure high quality patient centered care is at the heart of everything we do. You will be expected to be dynamic and committed by actively supporting and contributing to the recovery process whilst maintaining the high standards of patient care within a safe, secure and supportive environment.

We provide a service to our patients 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, therefore, we are looking for flexible individuals who will be available to cover shifts, including weekends and nights.

In return for your commitment the applicant can expect to work within a supportive environment where you will receive a comprehensive induction and training package, annual updates, regular supervision and will be actively encouraged to undertake further training and study in order for you to continue to develop professionally, in accordance with your agreed personal development plans. You will also have access to annual leave and the NHS Pension.

The main duties are to undertake assessment and planning of delegated care, monitoring of long-term conditions and well-being of service users including escalation of interventions when necessary, assist with the implementation and monitoring of clinical care and monitor outcome, administering of Medication in accordance within regulatory guidelines for Nursing Associate, undertake onward referrals to appropriate services and community based care support and to assist in specific therapeutic relations to meet the physical, emotional and psychological, social, cultural and spiritual needs of individuals and carers.
