If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Nurse and enthusiastic person to join our existing 0-5 Health Visitor Service in Westminster. This is a development post, starting as a Band 5 Community Staff Nurse. The post holder will then start the SCPHN course in Jan 2025 to become a Health Visitor on the Band 5 pay scale. On successful completion of the SCPHN course the post holder will be offered a Band 6 Health Visitor post.

The post holder will undertake the SCPHN course from Jan 2024. This one-year full time course will be jointly undertaken at the University of Greenwich. This is your chance to join our teams and to develop your career with the Trust. Alongside the support that you will receive from the University, you will be supported throughout your training by a passionate team of Practice Assessors/Supervisors in the 0-5 team, and the CLCH Academy.

This opportunity is being offered at pay band 5 level.

Criteria:

o You must be a qualified nurse/midwife with active registration on part one, or part two of the NMC Nursing Register (NMC PIN number should be provided within the application)

o Must hold a or above in a Nursing Degree (Level 6)

o Ability to study at level 7.

Main duties of the job

To provide in conjunction with the Health Visiting team an accessible, person centred, effective needs led public health nursing service to the 0-5 age population and their families. To participate in service development and health improvement activities. To work in collaboration with other health care and service providers, including Children centres and Early years settings to identify and address health needs. To monitor, maintain and develop the service. To deliver the role specific elements of the Universal Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009).

Job responsibilities

As a Community Staff Nurse, you will need to demonstrate that you are enthusiastic and highly motivated. You will be well organized and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be computer literate. Using these skills, you will work closely with the 0-5 Team Leads and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the Health Visiting service is able to provide children and their families with the highest possible standards of care within an ever changing and challenging environment.
