Job summary

Chet Valley Medical Practice based in Loddon, has an opportunity for a quality and safeguarding administrator to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis for 2-3 days a week. Supporting the lead administrator, this role is responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team. This is a varied role providing dedicated support to patient care by ensuring checks are carried out promptly and patients needs are recorded through read coding. The quality and safeguarding administrator will assist the practice business manager to co-ordinate all safeguarding and palliative care meetings, ensuring agendas and minutes are completed in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

Support the practice business manager with the processes required to produce high standards of care for patients. Run a monthly report and invite patients in for their NHS health check. Support the clinical governance lead in the preparation of agendas ahead of the team meeting. Work with the senior management team to coordinate and recall all eligible patients for vaccination clinics/home visits. Process and distribute incoming mail. Complete computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording patient information onto SystmOne in accordance with practice procedures.

We have a list size of 9000 patients and cover an area including Loddon, Chedgrave and the surrounding villages including Norton Sub Course, Hoverston and Surlingham. We are currently on a journey of improvement and are looking for someone with the same ambition as us to provide excellent patient care within a safe and sustainable working environment Chet Valley is a dispensing practice and have a full nursing team who deal with the long-term condition management as well as two nurse practitioners, an outreach nurse and a paramedic who deals with most of our home visits.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

Experience of working within a healthcare setting. Experience of working with the general public. Experience of administration duties. Previous experience working in a administration role within a GP practice. Understanding of QOF requirements and enhanced services. Ability to work under pressure. Willingness to work flexible hours when required to meet work demands. Strong IT skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desirable

SystmOne user. Experience of sending bulk SMS and mail merge.

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE Maths and English, C or above (or equivalent).

Desirable

NVQ level 2 in Health and Social care.
