I.T Technical Support

The role consists of the following:

  • Taking ownership of IT projects when necessary, such as migrations and server builds, providing control and delivery of projects.
  • Providing first line support as and when required.
  • Providing technical assistance and support to internal customers
  • Providing technical assistance to remote workers using PDAs and other computer equipment.
  • Maintaining the organisations infrastructure systems in line with IT procedures.
  • Quick response to 3rd party/supplier network/system failures
  • Keeping tight control of data
  • Maintaining system security and integrity
  • Working with third-party application Engineers to design, build, test and update EDI interfaces.
  • Liaising with suppliers to provide appropriate technical solutions.
  • Attending remote sites from time to time (driving license required).
  • Monitoring all incoming and outgoing EDI processes and resolve any import/export failures by liaising with suppliers and third-party vendors to resolve all business issues.
Technical Skills and Experience required
  • Router configurations, networking and security
  • Knowledge of windows server 2016,2019
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10 & 11
  • Microsoft Office 2016 onwards, including Office 365 and SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of mobiles and PDAs
  • Active Directory
  • Remote Desktop
  • DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP
  • Experience with SFTP user setup and support
  • At least 2 years previous experience of working within a 1st line / 2nd line support role.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities to short time frames.
