Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative pharmacist to work within our existing team of pharmacists and technicians. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a high standard of patient focused pharmaceutical care, and will rotate around different specialities in the Trust. You will have excellent communication, IT and team working skills and self-motivation to contribute to the development and delivery of the pharmacy service within the Trust. This role will involve development of rotational band 6 early careers pharmacists and trainee pharmacists

Your application will be considered if you have completed your postgraduate certificate in clinical pharmacy successfully and are proceeding to diploma level.

Main duties of the job

Provides specialist pharmaceutical care to clinical specialties on a rotational basis ensuring effective medicines management and compliance with current standards, statute and trust policies

The post holder will be expected to take part in weekend, bank holiday and emergency duty rota.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Support the Lead for Clinical Pharmacy Services in setting the strategic direction for the department

Contribute to the development of the annual business plan and strategic planning for the Pharmacy Directorate

Implement Trust policies in relation to the Clinical Pharmacy Service

Continually review the quality and standard of service provision through consultation with users of the Clinical Pharmacy Service and makes recommendations for improvement to the Deputy Clinical Director Pharmacy

Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and records for the Clinical Pharmacy Service and medicines management

Assists Directorates and specialties in controlling drug expenditure

Ensure the appropriate stock control and storage of materials and safe maintenance of equipment used in the provision of the Clinical Pharmacy services

Participates in weekend. public holiday and out of hours provision of pharmacy services

Complies with Trust policies relating to security and patient confidentiality and to ensure that procedures are undertaken within safe systems of work and legislation

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

MPharm or equivalent Degree in Pharmacy approved by General Pharmaceutical Council Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council

Desirable

Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification) Pharmacist prescriber

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Essential

1 year pre-registration training Able to demonstrate recent relevant experience of clinical pharmacy practice Good knowledge of Clinical Pharmacy, Medicines Management and Pharmacy Practice acquired through training and experience. Computer literate Pharmacy Practice Research and Clinical Audit Knowledge of drug budgets Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines whilst paying attention to detail. Problem solving and analytical skills Demonstrate commitment to CPD Education & Training skills
