Newly Qualified Swimming Teacher – Falkirk 

Stepping Stones is a leading private learn-to-swim provider in Scotland, known for delivering high-quality, low-ratio swimming lessons for children in small groups of up to 6 children. To support our growing team, we are looking for Newly Qualified Teachers who are eager to embark on an exciting career in swimming instruction.

Role Overview: As a Newly Qualified Teacher at Stepping Stones, you will be immersed in a supportive environment, allowing you opportunities to shadow experienced instructors and gain hands-on experience and build your confidence as a swimming instructor. You will play a crucial role in the delivery and progression of swimmers within our swim programme, catering to children typically aged between 3yrs – 11yrs. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation in swim instruction while making a positive impact on children's learning and development.

Qualifications:

  • National Governing Body Swimming Teacher Certificate (Essential) SSTQ | UKCC | STA | ASA
  • Passion for learning and professional development
  • Desirable NRASTC or NPLQ qualification but not essential 

Main Duties:

  • Participate in a comprehensive mentoring and shadowing program to build teaching skills and confidence
  • Assist in the safe delivery of swimming lessons following the Stepping Stones weekly framework
  • Support the progression and development of each swimmer through the Stepping Stones framework
  • Engage with the assessment of swimmers for the awards program twice per year
  • Provide feedback to the Stepping Stones office as required
