Job Description

• We are seeking a Weld Engineering Supervisor to designimprove and install integrated systems for new productintroductions in our manufacturing environment. This role willimpact safety quality delivery cost and innovation.Responsibilities include supervising weld technicians specifyingequipment developing weld parameters troubleshooting issues andidentifying cost savings. The ideal candidate will have a BachelorsDegree in Weld Engineering or a related field extensive experiencein the automotive support industry and strong leadership andcommunication skills. Knowledge of SPC CMM data resistance weldingand robotics is required.

Primary Objectives

• To Design improve and install integratedsystems in the introduction of new products to the manufacturingenvironment.
• Directly impact all aspects ofsafety quality delivery cost and innovation.
• To provide expertise on a variety of complexmanufacturing issues to increase the capabilities to produceproducts.

Essential Responsibilities

• Supervise Weld Technicians for PMs as well assupport assignments.
• Spec out weldingequipment and tooling for new and existing product.
• Attend runoffs for approving weld equipment andtooling.
• Develop and establish weld parametersfor new or existing equipment.
• Troubleshootwelding problems and provide solutions accordingly.
• Work to identify cost savings.
• Communicate safe policies for job performance.
• Schedule and attend necessary companymeetings.
• Work with other departments to solveproblems.
• Other duties may be assigned andchanged as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Weld Engineering or relatedfield.
• Extensive experience in weld assemblyarea of automotive support industry.
• Supervisory experience.
• Experiencewith quality and tooling related issues.
• Knowledge of SPC and CMM data.
• Tradesman certification based on experience.
• Mechanical / Electronic studies or technicaltraining.
• Knowledge of resistance welding androbotics.
• Excellent communication andorganizational skills.
• Strong leadershipskills.
• Computerskills.
