Main duties of the job

The Deputy Practice Manager will support the Practice Manager, Partners and staff in all aspects of the day-to-day management of the Practice. The Deputy Practice Manager will act as the senior manager in the absence of the Practice Manager. They will be responsible for assisting the Practice Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the practice.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess strong leadership and managerial skills, extensive experience in healthcare management, a strong HR background, and a track record of driving growth and operational excellence. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with a passion for delivering high-quality healthcare services and ensuring regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be innovative, adaptable, and capable of inspiring and leading a diverse team

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will oversee the day-to-day running of the practice and be responsible for maintaining the performance of our already very strong and innovative team. You will provide positive leadership and role modelling through your understanding of Human Resources, strategic planning, and management of protocols. Working effectively with the GP Partners and Practice Manager you will enable us to make informed decisions for the good of the practice and our patients and help maintain the Partnerships ethos of having a friendly and effective team that has a good work-life balance.

The successful candidate will be proactive, motivated and flexible, promoting the highest standards of patient care whilst supporting the business financial sustainability. The role comprises of managing the day-to-day operations of the practice including strategic planning, human resources, patient service delivery, information technology, clinical governance, quality and performance management and health and safety.

Certificate/Diploma in Primary Care and Health Management (DPCHM) awarded by the Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists (AMSPAR) Vocational Training Scheme for General Practice Managers (VTSGPM) - awarded by the Institute of Healthcare Management (IHM).
