Job responsibilities

To Assist the Theatre Management team in the efficient utilisation of all resources with specific attention on Theatre utilisation and staffing. Leadership and support for the Theatre team Assisting with staff recruitment, training, development and appraisals. Report the failure or mechanical problems of any items of equipment in line with Hospital Policy. Contribute to the effective budget management of the Theatre Department. To assist the Theatre Manager in the business planning process, including business continuity plans. Exhibit a high level of Perioperative care in line with best practice as well as professional and national standards and hospital procedures and acting as a role model for the team. Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner Post graduate qualification mentorship Minimum 5 years experience within the role of Operating Rooms Practitioner Demonstrated experience managing teams Demonstrated experience running an Operating Suite in the absence of the Manager or Deputy.

Desirable

Competence in delivering a high level of peri-operative care A high level of communication skills within all disciplines and grades. Flexibility in response to needs of the department Ability to deliver a high level of customer service to patients and Consultants
