ECI Project amp Design Engineer

OCU Hornbill part of the wider OCU Group ofCompanies have a new opportunity for an experienced LV ECI Projectand Design Engineer. The purpose of the role is to ensure thetechnical aspects of projects are correct using advancedengineering skill to ensure the project is fit for purpose andmeets the statutoryrequirements.

Duties andResponsibilities

  • Take the lead on the planning and implementation ofprojects.
  • Ensure adherence to company andindustry regulations.
  • Supervise and managesite projects including budgeted hours material costs andtimescales.
  • Generate project fileswith test sheets work instructions and associatedmanuals.
  • Conduct risk assessments &drive SHEQ excellence.
  • Implement all correctiveactions when required.
  • Review and manageDepartmental projects includingperformance.
  • Maintaining strongrelationships.
  • Take responsibility for ManagingLow Voltage installation work including Power distribution andControl systems.
  • Manage Hazardous Area LowVoltage installation work and Instrumentationinstallation.
  • Manage small bore pipeworkinstallations.
  • Undertake electricaldesigns.
  • Generate electricalschematics using CAD.
  • Coordinate projectdocumentation
  • Assist in workshoptesting and site commissioning of completeddesigns

Skillsand Experience

  • BSc/MScin Electrical Engineering orequivalent.
  • Experience working withAutoCAD.
  • Able to think strategically in orderto deliver both the company and departmentalobjectives.
  • Able to motivate and develop othersand maintain high standards across theteam.
  • Experience of managing multiple projectsprioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbaland written communication skills.
  • Prepared tochallenge the status quo and apply a test and learn approach todrive continuousimprovement.
  • Commercially aware andfinancially literate.
  • High computerliteracy with advanced numerical and analyticalskills.
  • Collaborative andresponsible.
  • Able to guide lead coach andmotivate the team to meet their objectives andtargets.
