"We have an exciting opportunity in Geriatric Division care of the elderly wards at Queens site at BHRUT Hospitals. We are looking to recruit a Band 6 to join our existing highly motivated team on at King George Site. The Beech Frailty unit is based at King George Hospital.

Care of the Elderly is currently going through a process of change to ensure we meet the on-going needs of our patients and to provide an excellent standard of care every time every day. This is an ideal opportunity for you to bring your experiences and visions to help us to deliver these changes. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse with a passion for delivering high quality care, training to our staff in partnership with patients and their relatives putting the patients at the centre of our PRIDE values and responsibility for this area of nursing and maintaining high standard of care and training. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care to older patients
who require the support of the comprehensive Geriatric assessment on FOPALS Consultant
and Nursing Team.
The post holder will share a generic caseload with supervision/support from a senior team
member. He/she will also be involved in providing palliative and end of life nursing care to
older patients with dementia.

We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Community Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic.

The Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital is one of eight to be ; the Care Quality Commission has raised the ratings for at Queen’s and King George hospitals; and showed that the Trust was the most improved in 2023 for reducing waits for emergency care.
