Job overview

We have exciting opportunities for a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker to join our established, supportive Early Interventions in Psychosis Service. 

The Early Interventions Service provides care and treatment to 14 - 65 year olds who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. As a team, we strive to ensure that we deliver high quality, patient-centred care and that our staff are supported in their roles and encouraged to develop. We follow the EIS ethos of quality, multi-disciplinary input for service users and their carers / family members. 

This role will require you to travel between community locations, you must therefore be comfortable with driving for work purposes and able to travel freely within the hours of the role. Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who works well in a team, but also has the ability to work independently using their own initiative. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of mental health, particularly psychosis and the impact this can have on an individual as well as their family, friends and carers. 

We can offer you regular supervision and Personal Development Reviews and ongoing professional development through a range of training. You will also have the opportunity to develop others, for example through mentoring students. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, including time management and prioritisation of the needs of their caseload. In addition, they will work independently as part of a multidisciplinary team to diagnose, assess, plan and implement client-specific care. EIS is a county wide team and the successful applicant would have a caseload across the county. 

We offer training in Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT) to all of our care coordinators as well as opportunities to be part of our service improvement / QI projects.
