WHAT TO EXPECT

As Logistics Strategic Studies Specialist within the GME-Logistics team, you will create optimised Manufacturing Logistics Solutions to feed responses into strategic and Off-cycle business studies. Projects could include studies into global footprint studies, innovations or make v’s buy studies.

You will be responsible for defining total Manufacturing Logistics Solutions, calculating required programme budgets (capital, operational expenditure, CO2e, space), evaluating business benefits to ensure optimal solutions for scale of project, feasibility and timing studies, and subsequent business case creation. You will work closely with your colleagues in Logistics Strategy to ensure you are abreast of the most up-to-date and relevant standards and strategy to ensure programme funding aligns to our Logistics Roadmap.

Key accountabilities and responsibilites:

You will be responsible for ensuring key Manufacturing Logistics deliverables and milestones are achieved on time, to early Programme targets. Through collaboration, effective relationships and stakeholder management, you will influence future Manufacturing Logistics operations, Total Delivered Cost, Manufacturing Cost per Unit and E2E Supply Chain strategy. You will be expected to facilitate cross functional stakeholder engagement for Manufacturing Logistics within our Industrial Operations and Engineering organisations, ensuring our requirements and impacts are included in all key milestone decisions. You will ensure the delivery of Manufacturing Logistics strategic business objectives. You will be responsible for clear and smooth handover of projects to Programme or delivery teams and quality feedback loops, to understand how successful your planning was for your customers. You will drive robust Programme Governance activities; project status and financial reporting, risk and issue management, and Project KPI’s to senior management and stakeholders. With a lean mindset, you will be expected to apply detailed problem-solving techniques and structured approach to issues management from identification, through to robust containment and root cause. You will ensure achievement of early gateway deliverables, on-time and to target, as set out in Product Creation and Delivery System (PCDS), relevant JLR Quality Operating Systems (QOS), the Commodity Creation and Delivery System (CCDS) and aligned to Global Manufacturing Engineering’s Standards. 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to influence and lead colleagues at varying levels within the organisation to ensure the delivery of our premium products, meeting all targets. Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite with a greater emphasis on experience of using Excel to provide timely and accurate data to the business. Experience of successful Problem Resolution through collaboration and engagement, using structured approaches. Ability to manage risks and issues, with clear understanding of escalation and de-escalation management. Negotiation and adaptability skills.  Experience of stakeholder management at all levels. Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.  Have the ability to travel between sites regularly.
