At Gregory Distribution, we are currently seeking a Depot Manager for our customer site in Shepton Mallet. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position will manage the Pallet Networks of the Shepton Mallet operations, covering three pallet networks.
The position of Depot Manager involves:
You will have full P&L responsibility for the Depot reporting into the General Manager.Oversee the resourcing, organising and managing the transport activities, including responsibility for all operational and legal compliance.Leading and motivating a team of circa 60, including drivers, warehouse and office staff.Responsibility for circa 35 vehicles operating day and night.Perform regular meetings with Transport Manager and Supervisors to ensure all areas of vehicle & driver legal compliance, Health and Safety and transport planning are monitored, reviewed and any actions required are in place.Managing and being the key point of contact for all customers, developing and growing the business. Ensuring all opportunities to grow the future of the business are taken.Set objectives and measure relevant financial and operational KPI’s to General Manager.Ensure Budget constraints are met and assist in production of future Budgets.Identifying peaks and troughs within the Business Area and identify areas of improvement.Identifying any areas that are underperforming and put in place strategy plans for improvement.Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety and compliance.Producing statistics as required for customer meetings.Conduct annual PDR interviews with direct reports.Essential skills required for Depot Manager:
Must hold international or national CPC qualification and previous Transport Management experience.Have a good understanding of legal compliance, driver’s hours and WTD's.Track record of leading successful change.Proven experience in customer relationship management.Have managed financial budgets and annual Profit and Loss responsibility.Strong evidence of management skills and making key business decisions.Capability to advise and motivate team to deliver results for the business.Ability to present to Senior Key contacts within the business and to external customers.Must be able to be flexible in the role due to operating hours and customer demands.Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.IT literate including MS Office. Strong analytic ability in review data and reports.Desirable skills required for Depot Manager:
Previous knowledge and experience of working in the Pallet Networks.Why Gregory Distribution?
Salary for Depot Manager is between £50,000pa - £55,000pa, depending on experience. Hours of work are Monday – Friday, 08:30hrs to 17:30hrs.
