Job summary

The Faculty Support Team supports the development of Foundation and Secondary Care Specialty Schools (including Public Health and Dental). This involves the recruitment and development of educators; and working with them to support the delivery of training to trainees and trainers.

The team support curriculum delivery in two specific ways:

Managing the Curriculum Study Leave process by working with national teams, local education providers and the Specialty schools Managing events run by and for Schools, including training courses,conferences and meetings

Further functions of the Faculty Support Team include, but are not limited to; educator recruitment, induction and development, oversight of virtual learning, oversight of Trust based school administrators and support for Trainee Fellows. The Account Manager will support the Faculty Support Senior Manager and the team to ensure that their workstream of programmes are planned and managed effectively whilst taking the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.

The role specifically manages the development and provision of specialty specific services across a number of Postgraduate Schools. The role involves working closely with the Head(s) of School(s), as well as linking with key stakeholders across the east of England.

The postholder may be expected to carry out other appropriate delegated duties as required.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

To maintain a good awareness of specialty specific requirements and processes relevant to the Faculty Support team. To liaise with appropriate functions within the local offices and with key external stakeholders. To manage all reporting, relating to the relevant specialty School(s). To develop and manage Annual School Business Plans in liaison with Heads of Schools and ensure that any innovations are integrated into the other functional teams' working activities if appropriate. Review progress against Business Plans. The management of additional specific workstreams, at direction of Faculty Support Senior Manager

Enabling patient and public involvement

To act as a champion for patients and their interests and involve the public and patients in the policy development and decision-making of NHS England To ensure all public and patient contact with the office is of the highestprofessional standard. To embed patient and public involvement within NHS England at alllevels of decision making.

Promoting equality and reducing inequalities

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average at least 40% of their time working in-person.

The role is based in Cambridge, face to face office attendance will be required alongside travel across the region when & where necessary. However the job can be hybrid with some time working from home.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher. Experience

Essential

Knowledge of current policies, initiatives, developments and issues within medical education with an understanding of local and national implications Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments Experience of managing risks and reporting Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence Experience of managing a team without direct line management

Desirable

Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes Knowledge of DH funding streams associated with the allocation of funding to postgraduate medical education Understanding of the public sector Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools, such as Prince 2 Foundation and Microsoft Project

Skills and abilities

Essential

Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders Ability to analyse very complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources. Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures Knowledge of Financial Systems monitoring budget management, processing invoices and procurement Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long -term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures.

Essential

Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.

Desirable

Evidence of continued professional development. Postgraduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent
