Part of the People Directorate, our Moving and Handling Team plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both patients and staff. We are currently seeking a dedicated Moving and Handling Support Assistant to join our team at King's Mill Hospital.

As a key member of the team, you will your day to day repsonsibilities will include conducting workplace assessments of staff with complex needs, independently undertaking simple workstation assessments within the scope of practice, assist in carrying out delegated moving and handling duties, and supporting the administration and clerical duties of the moving and handling service.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential

Broad knowledge of moving and handling theory and practice. Well-developed communication skills and time management Effective organisational abilities Computer skills and knowledge of IT systems Experience of providing instruction/training to others

Desirable

Moving and handling of patients in an acute care setting Knowledge of teaching and learning theory and best practices in effective delivery of training

Qualifications

Essential

Moving and handling qualification - moving and handling of people/loads Qualification or experience supporting with workstation assessments (VDU/screen)

Desirable

Recognise d teaching/assessing qualification , PETALS, Certificate Level 3 in Teaching, ENB998 or equivalent. Relevant Moving and Handling course /DSE assessor

Further Training

Essential

Teaching and assessing skills Computer skills Supervisory skills In house training/study days/evidence of recent CPD

Desirable

Relevant moving and handling course , R ospa/Bariatric care

Experience
