Leicester, United Kingdom Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Full time

Job Overview

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a full time Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner in the Perinatal Service.

The Perinatal Mental Health Team is a Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Community service that covers the whole of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We specialise in the assessment, diagnosis and short-term treatment of women who are affected by a moderate to severe mental health illness in the preconception, antenatal and postnatal period.

The NHS Long Term Plan builds on the commitments outlined in the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health to transform specialist PMH services across England. As part of the proposed £2.3bn investment in mental health identified in the Long Term Plan, additional investment will support further service developments for perinatal mental health.

As a result of a successful funding bid from NHSE, we are looking to expand the service significantly with the addition a number of staff. This will enable us to offer access to women with moderate to severe perinatal health difficulties access to specialist community care from pre-conception to 24 months (extended from 12 months) after birth. We will also increase access to evidence based psychological therapies for those offered treatment by the service. We are keen to receive applicants from male staff who can assist us in the development of support for partners of the patients.

The health and wellbeing of our team members is very important to us and we offer a robust induction period, as well as regular supervision and support. You will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.
