Are you a dedicated and compassionate Tutor ready to empower students with SEMH needs and inspire them to achieve their fullest potential?

GSL Education South Yorkshire are seeking a dedicated SEMH Tutor to join a supportive educational environment in Sheffield (S35). In this rewarding role, you will provide tailored tutoring sessions that empower students to overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.

As a SEMH Tutor, your primary role involves providing personalised support to students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This includes delivering tailored lessons that address their unique learning needs while fostering a positive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities of the SEMH Tutor:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEMH needs as an SEMH Tutor.
  • Assist students with their studies, helping them manage their SEMH challenges within the school environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure individual learning plans are followed and adapted to meet student's unique needs.
  • Offer emotional and academic support to students, creating a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Help students with special needs by developing personalised strategies to promote learning and growth.
  • Prepare and deliver lesson materials, ensuring they are accessible for students with SEMH needs.

Requirements of the SEMH Tutor:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience or graduates in education are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in working with students who have SEMH needs or special educational needs.
  • Previous experience as an SEMH Tutor is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to support students' emotional and educational progress.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
