The Somerset Adult ADHD service is actively recruiting a Band 6 nurse to join our innovative team. We are a busy, hard working countywide service, providing patient centred ADHD assessments and treatment to adults living in Somerset who have not already been given an ADHD diagnosis.

We work collaboratively and consultatively with colleagues within Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, wider support networks and agencies to deliver an integrated service model.

Main duties of the job

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to conduct ADHD assessments, employing evidence-based tools and processes. Showcase your expertise within this specialist service by offering advice, education, and support to staff, patients, their families, and carers.

Work both independently and under direct clinical supervision. You will be empowered to make autonomous clinical decisions and implement complex interventions based on your own clinical judgement.

In this role, you will collaboratively assess the needs of service users, maintain comprehensive records, provide follow-up to monitor treatment responses, and contribute to the development of non-pharmacological treatments within the service. Communication with service users, families, referrers, and other relevant agencies will be integral.

You will also foster strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including the Trust Psychological Well-being Service, Children's Services, Single Point of Access, GPs, and Commissioners where appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential

RMN/RNMH/RNLD qualification. Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma level specialist training, short courses Registered nurse or hold other relevant professional qualification and current registration appropriate to the job role. Professional registration with relevant statutory body

Desirable

ADHD Training or equivalent UKAAN Course

Experience

Essential

Experience of undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments

Desirable

Post registration experience including proven experience working at a Band 6 level Working with people with ADHD and associated comorbidities. Able to carry out physical health monitoring required under the Shared Care Agreement monitoring of Pulse & Blood Pressure
